The 2010 Jeep Compass SUV Summing Up

The 2010 Jeep Compass when equipped with a larger 2.4-liter engine still feels lethargic while maneuvering and merging and this is pretty obvious when combined with the 4WD and the power-consuming CVT. The other major drawback is the noise that it makes and the 2.0-liter engine is more like a snail and noisier than before. When compared to other compact SUVs of its class, the 2010 Jeep Compass does not handle or drive well on uneven or bumpy roads and the structure which gets more flexible when moving over potholes does not make the matter any better. Overall the wind and road noise gets into the cabin when traveling in a high speed and the handling is certainly mediocre. Even ardent fans of the “Jeep” will think a hundred times before purchasing the 2010 Jeep Compass.

The 2010 Jeep Compass has regular safety features including a stability control with a rollover sensor, traction control and full-length side curtain airbags. There are front-seat airbags but they are optional and in the government crash tests, the 2010 Jeep Compass earns four stars for front impact tests and five stars for side-impact tests. The 2010 Jeep Compass also receives a “Good” certificate from IIHS with the front side airbags but without the airbags this SUV gets the worst tag.
