 The automobile industry in China has turned out to be the largest buyer and manufacturer of cars, minivans, pickup trucks and SUVs as compared to any U.S., Japanese or European automobile industry.  The saying “Big things come in small packages” is represented by the Ford sales of small SUVs. The sales figure of Ford for October was 206,896 which made them the second largest automaker in the US. While comparing with 2010 in terms of sales, this year Ford Motor Company had a strong growth rate of 13.25% with the help of Ford Escape small SUV, Ford Fusion and Ford Explorer.  Maserati’s Kubang SUV concept was introduced in 2003 at the Detroit Auto Show. As reported by Cars UK, the company has now filed a patent in Europe with the name “Cinqueporte”. While the name sounds interesting, I do find it as a tongue twister as well. The name actually translates to 5 doors.  Lambo’s CEO Stephan Winkelmann said, Lamborghini will make a decision on its third model by October. Both the SUV and the Estoque are in testing to see which should be the company’s third model. After the Aventador and Gallardo in the Italian brand’s lineup, the automaker wants its third model to be an every-day car.  The top-selling SUV in America, Honda CR-V has now entered the 4th generation. The automaker has adopted all new style, innovative technology and has also improved its space and fuel economy. The final production version is expected to debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November and in showrooms by Christmas.  According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (I.I.H.S.) study today’s SUVs and pickup trucks on the road are far less deadly than previous models. This study is based on federal crash data for one- to four-year-old vehicles which included the examination of S.U.V.’s, pickup trucks, cars and minivans.  Alfa Romeo, the sports car brand of the Fiat group has postponed the launch of its three new models by almost two years later than originally planned. Alfa Romeo said it will launch the Giulia in 2014 and it has also canceled the plans to make a large SUV by Chrysler Group LLC due to the poor economic outlook.  Maserati SUV - Kubang is on display at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Owned by the FIAT the Maserati will build the Kubang SUV on a Chrysler production line alongside the Grand Cherokee in Detroit. Sergio Marchionne, Chief executive officer said the production of the Kubang SUV will take place in 2012. Maserati’s Lorenzo Ramaciotti has done the SUV makeover.  Eterniti made its public debut with its new luxury SUV Hemera at the Frankfurt Motor Show which runs from September 15 to 25 in Frankfurt, Germany.  Lincoln is in the process of recreating itself with the introduction of seven new or upgraded models between 2011 and 2014, one of which will be the Navigator SUV. Like most of Ford‘s vehicles, Lincoln’s largest vehicle the Navigator SUV will also gain the hot-selling 3.5-liter Eco-Boost V6 from the Ford F-150 with some styling and mechanical twist.
