Honda Motor Co. states that it will stop manufacturing the boxy compact SUV after the 2011 model year. Initially introduced at the Detroit auto show in 2001 as the Model X concept, the Element stood as a consequence of its very boxy shape, extraordinary “clamshell” door design and a rubber-lined interior that could nearly be washed out with a garden hosepipe.
