The 2010 Cadillac Escalade Hybrid 2WD Reviews
Most Impressive: When you own and drive this new model from Cadillac, there is nothing lost in the driving or comfort experience, you’ll be just gaining a better feeling of higher fuel economy and less emissions from the engine. The Escalade Hybrid is on the cutting edge of automotive high-technology. Least Impressive: Power train quirks take some getting used to, reduced towing capacity; cramped third-row seat has to be removed for maximum cargo capacity. Best Comparison: The closest vehicle in price and performance is the BMW ActiveHybrid X6, a "sports activity coupe" body on an SUV chassis that also features a V-8 and a different version of the Escalade Hybrid's Two-Mode Hybrid system. The ActiveHybrid 7 is the world's most powerful hybrid, and its eCVT is tuned to imitate a seven-speed automatic, making it almost indistinguishable (but much pricier) than the standard V-8 X6. It's not likely that many Escalade buyers cross-shop the X6, however, and vice versa. Bottom-line: The 2009 Cadillac Escalade Hybrid combines ostentatious luxury with an overt green theme, while offering seating for seven, cargo room, and fuel economy worthy of a V-6.
