SEAT to Manufacture Audi Q3 in SpainAudi’s Q3 small SUV is to be manufactured at SEAT’s Martorell plant in Spain. The Spanish brand, sister to Audi in the VW Group, has stated that it will be captivating on 700 employees at the plant near Barcelona to manufacture the Q3. The automobile is likely to go sale in the UK in November as a smaller sibling to the launched Q5 and Q7 models. The Q3 is based on the Cross Coupe perception first seen at the Shanghai Motor Show in China in 2007. At the moment in time Audi said the car would get underway in 2011 as part of Audi’s plans to achieve 40-plus different models by 2015.
Latest spy shots of the SUV put forward that the sleek outline of the Cross Coupe will be kept in the making version, making the automobile a serious opponent to the new breed of sport utility models that are proving well-liked in the market. Mechanically the Q3 will be extremely similar to the Tiguan manufactured by Audi’s sister brand Volkswagen. Whether the building of the Q3 in one of its plants will give support to SEAT’s own SUV ambitions has not been disclosed. The IBX thought, an SUV considered to be similar to the Audi Q3, was revealed at Geneva.
