Recall Alert for Nissan Cars, Trucks and SUVs

Nissan is conducting a recall campaign for Garmin navigation units sold at its dealerships, according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Cars, trucks and SUVs equipped with Navigation 750, 760 and 765 GPS devices are threatened for a vehicle fire due to overheating batteries in the devices.

The recalled models and model years are:

Nissan / Altima 2008-2010

Nissan / Frontier 2008-2010

Nissan / Pathfinder 2008-2010

Nissan / Rogue 2008-2010

Nissan / Sentra 2008-2010

Nissan / Versa 2008-2010

Nissan / Xterra 2008-2010

NHTSA does not say precisely how many vehicles will be influenced by the faulty batteries. But according to Nissan, 7,948 of the systems were either factory- or dealer-installed by the manufacturers.

Garmin technicians will make the required mends to the GPS units by changing the battery with a new, less-toasty element and adding another spacer between the battery and the rest of the device. The refurbish won’t charge owners anything except a little time and a trip to the local dealer. Nissan will inform the owners directly about the recall, which is planned to begin sometime during this month.

Suzuki is also facing a similar recall, additionally – these Garmin navigation units are fitted in the SX4, Grand Vitara and Equator.

  • Tires have a certain amount of load that it can carry. When you put too much stuff in the vehicle, it also affects the condition of the tire. When there is excessive load in the car, the tire is possible to come off the rim when the car tries to turn in the road corner. Each vehicle has its appropriate type of tire to be used so depending on the possible loading on that particular vehicle.
