Land Rover Recalls 2010 and 2011 LR2 SUVs for Faulty AirbagsLand Rover is recalling around 3,000 cases of its little one LR2 models for a possible issue with the driver’s airbag section. In accordance with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), the recall has an effect on those LR2s manufactured between November 12, 2009 and August 23 2010. In keeping with an official report released from the government agency the problem focuses around the shorting bar in the clock spring, which may happen to be disconnected when the driver’s side airbag module is installed. Consequently the driver’s air bag may not deploy appropriately or deploy at all in the occurrence of an accident. Land Rover was to begin the recall of the LR2 on or before Dec. 13. For the moment, if you own one of these LR2s concerned by the recall, both NHTSA and Land Rover advises you to contact your local Land Rover dealer. Land Rover will set up a spacer in the clock spring harness connector, which will make sure that the airbag functions as it should be. Land Rover dealers will perform the recall free of charge.
