Land Rover launches Defender X-Tech edition in BelgiumThe Belgians may not be acknowledged as greatly for military prowess as, state, for beer or waffles – at least not from the time they conquered the Congo, in any case – but Brussels is the seat of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization as well. NATO was set up as a joint front against the Communist bloc, and even now stands as one of the most alarming alliances of nations this side of the Star Wars Empire. It is a perfect place, then, to make public a paramilitary-type vehicle such as the X-Tech Limited Edition. With no trouble as tough as any Hummer or Jeep, the X-Tech is based on the Land Rover Defender – one of the most rock-hard rock-crawlers ever created. It’s offered in either silver, three-door Defender 90 appearance or in five-door Defender 110 long wheelbase in olive green, both counterbalance by black roof, wheel arches, interior in addition to new “saw-tooth” alloys. Not the most important upgrade on the base model, but just sufficient enough to give it the outlook it is worthy of.
