Hyundai i40 Wagon to hit the European Markets

Hyundai sales in Europe have been stronger in the past few years. As a consequence, the company made the surprising statement at the Geneva Motor Show this month that its i40 wagon will hit the marketplace before the sedan given that wagons are much more popular in Europe.

The mid-size market in Europe is significant to a certain extent and the i40 should be a very practical vehicle. Although the framework may be related to our Sonata, the European operations have adjusted it particularly for their market by changing the exterior, engine offerings, and suspension for local tastes.

How about the U.S.? We’re not so sure Americans are all set for a Sonata wagon. Wagons basically sell just fine in our market and it can be too expensive to bring to market given the modest sales. Even though the i40′s stylish wagon shape came to the states, we’d never see Hyundai’s 1.7-liter turbo-diesel engine that will expected make up the largest part of European sales.
