Government to investigate - 2006 Honda CR-V, 2007 Kia OptimaTwo well-liked family vehicles are being inspected for possible flaws that could lead to safety recalls. According to the Detroit News reports the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is examining it the transmissions in the 2007 Kia Optima, and the electrical systems in the 2006 Honda CR-V, have defects that need a compulsory recall. Both surveys were opened only after three complaints each were recorded about the issue; a reliable sign that the management is opening more investigations in a more practical method. If a recall is issued, it could include 150,000 2006 CR-V models. In a separate inquiry, the NHTSA is looking into complaints concerning the 2007 Kia Optima. The complaints claim that the vehicle’s automatic transmission cable can be disconnected; stopping the vehicle from engaging any gears. Three complaints have been filed, with one involving “a rollaway event after parking the vehicle.” In the past Kia has issued a technical service official statement for the 2006-07 Optima for a similar setback, but no recall was ever issued. If the most recent study necessitates a recall, 41,000 vehicles could be involved.
