Ford’s E-Series Vans Celebrate 50 Years of Success with A Special EditionFifty years of constant success for any model is enough by itself to rejoice. It becomes a little different when you add the detail that the Ford E-Series has been America’s best-selling full-size van for 31 successive years, this calls for an extra-large celebration. The Blue Oval’s spirited modest work horses came into the picture in 1961 with a full of three different body styles. The Station Bus, with two times the interior space of the largest station wagon of the day, was intended to provide accommodation up to eight occupants when fitted with two possible bench seats in addition to the standard driver and passenger buckets. Originally designed for saleable duty only, Ford was soon conscious of the fact that families love vans, and started off the mixing out consumer-oriented, family-friendly editions, too. Ever since, the Econoline known in recent years just as the E-Series has smitten to become the best-selling full-size van in the United States for 31 years in a straight line. Not too worn out. By way of marking the occasion, Ford has determined to roll out a special-edition E-Series. The 2011 Ford E-Series 50th Anniversary edition XLT will offer Sync– inclusive with navigation and satellite radio–, Ford Works Solutions, blue metallic coat and ‘Econoline’ overstated into the seatbacks and unique logo. Up to now, there’s no statement on how much that sort of kit will set you back, although it can’t be too much in excess of $33,455 Ford asks for the E-150 XLT Premium.
