Does speeding at 90 mph at the rate of $25 appeal to you?

We have heard of extreme new campaigns some even wild during election time. With the elections around, there are a few funny people with even funnier suggestion running for office. Here is an example of a candidate for Governor of Nevada; Eugene DiSimone has come up with wild idea of getting car and SUV drivers to pay for speed. Mr. DiSimone assumes that those who make use of highways of the state wouldn’t mind paying $25 a day for the opportunity of driving 90mph. This new idea by Mr. DiSimone is supposedly a way to assuage the state’s budget wretchedness and he also expects that this strategy would acquire $1 billion. Another assumption from Mr. DiSimone is that there would be as many as 40 million car and SUV drivers who would accept the deal over the period of a year.

However, the Nevada police are not going along with the new found ideas of Mr. DiSimone – as they believe that there are many shortcomings with this new-found idea. The Nevada police dread that this new scheme would be the cause for more accidents and some of which could be deadly. Along with the accidents, the police would have to implement the speed limitations on those car drivers who do not cough up the $25 a day and this would lead to employing more work-force which is an added expenditure to the state. The pay for speed scheme is a dispensation only a select few can get and still there are many who would go against the idea as drivers with low-incomes would not be able to go for it.

Eugene DiSimone is on the poll as an independent candidate as he was able to gather 250 signatures on a petition. Alongside the pay for speed scheme, this political greenhorn has also been campaigning paying all the state debts in gold or silver. He believes that this would help the state in garnering $3.6 billion since Nevada would purchase the gold and silver from the companies at a 20 percent discount. The political amateur states that the state could mint its own coins and it would give the land where minerals are found to mining companies and trade it at a discount. The governor in anticipation also looks forward to receiving complete control of the Nevada National Guard away from President Obama making use of it to arrest the illegal residents.
