All new 2013 Ford Escape with eco-boost and four-cylinder engine optionsFord is replacing its old SUV with the all-new 2013 Escape which is set to make its debut at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show starting on 16th of November. With the Vertrek concept, the 2013 Ford Escape will have an option of three four-cylinder engines: • An updated version of the existing 2.5 liter offered in the US with aspirated engine and variable valve timing. • Ford’s new turbocharged 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine rated at 175 hp will beat the ratings of its four-cylinder competitors. Being popular in Europe with Focus and C-Max models, it is making its debut with Escape in US. It will make use of turbo charging, twin independent variable camshaft timing and direct injection to produce better fuel economy. Image Source : http://bit.ly/pHrW69 • Another Ford’s new turbocharged 2.0-liter EcoBoost engine offered in Edge and Explorer crossover ranges will deliver comparable and unsurpassed performance. Rated at 240 hp it will provide with better fuel economy than all other V6-powered competitors. Ford is planning to debut its 2013 Escape in Australia. Peter Fadeyev Ford Production Communication Manager for SUVs said, “We don’t have an introduction date for the new model yet, but we can certainly expect it to come to Australia.” 2013 Ford Escape will be the Fords first SUV model to offer the 1.6-liter EcoBoost engine as well as two options one which is most economical and other which is most sporty. Joe Bakaj, VP, power train engineering said, “Expanding the availability of EcoBoost technology in the all-new Ford Escape will give customers a great range of choices for the fuel efficiency and performance they want in a small SUV.” According to Derrick Kuzak, Ford product development chief, four years ago Ford has set a blueprint of improving its fuel economy in next 20 years. Along with the 2013 Escape, the production-ready of C-Max Hybrid is expected to be shown in November at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show.
