MERCEDES BENZ NEW GLK SUV

Mercedes has done well with its other SUVs in the past few years, now Mercedes-Benz decided to release the new model GLK at starting price of the GLK350: $33,900 that’s for the rear-wheel-drive model the all-wheel-drive model will start at $35,900 not including an $875 destination fee. It has started with its dealership in January 2009.

Though the concept of GLK SUV is all the same that we have seen ago but what important is that it will be available in both two wheel and four wheel drive models. The others come standard with all wheel drive. For the buyer just interested in the luxury and utility of the GLK, the two wheel drive should cost less than the competition.

It has high performance with its six cylinder engine and seven-speed automatic transmission which gives 268 hp, 0-60 mph in 6.5 seconds, and 23 mpg on the highway. There is cargo room with the rear seats folded, 19-inch wheels, Bluetooth, power seats and dual-zone climate control. There are five option packages and nine stand-alone options covering everything from a panoramic sunroof, power lift gate, navigation, leather seats, etc.

The interiors of the SUV are great looking with a high roofline and GL-Class. There are the tall windows which make excellent sightlines from the driver’s seat. The striped cebrano wood, bright-white leather seats, dashboard’s twin cowls of the S-Class covered in leather stitching.

Mercedes engineer Uwe Skrzypek, said the concept’s Blue tec four-cylinder diesel won’t be included when the production GLK SUV arrives here in early 2009. It seems the only diesels fitted for U.S. buyers have been V-6s so far, he said, and so the GLK will likely draw power from either the C300 or C350’s gas V-6.

  • I feel that the new Chevy Traverse is one of the best family SUV available in the present automotive market...Its really great to drive, and you will surely enjoy it...
  • Having seen this vehicle first hand at an auto show I was blown away by the giant leap forward Suzuki has taken in quality and refinement. This vehicle easily competes with Toyota and Honda hands down. Now if only Suzuki can get away from the Korean made vehicles and start importing it's own JDM models like the Swift. Subaru was in the same boat with cars not quite up to the standards of Honda or Toyota but now look at them. Legacy, Tribeca and soon to come next gen. Impreza. Soon all the Japanese manufactures will be considered 1st tier.
