SUV Reviews : The 2010 Jeep Compass SUV
Overview: While everyone will be looking for some similarity of a jeep, the 2010 Jeep Compass does not quite successfully find distinctiveness for itself and leaves the rest of us confused! Although this SUV has an efficient four-cylinder engine and borrows styles from here, there and everywhere it does not leave an impressive stamp in the minds of SUV lovers! The Jeep Compass was revamped and given a whole new design to the inside and it was really a refreshing change from the boring interior that the Jeep Compass had earlier. However; with all these chalks and changes, the SUV still does not grab your attention as expected by the manufacturers. Some of the improvements which have been made to the 2010 Jeep Compass are the refurbished instrument panel, updated center console, door trim panels with padded armrests and smooth look with chrome accents. While everyone likes to speak about the positives of a product while writing a review, the 2010 Jeep Compass has made it a tad difficult as one has to search and find positive aspects with this SUV. Finally, the two main positives which come from the 2010 Jeep Compass are the affordable price and the flip-down tailgate speakers and the latter is actually quite an interesting feature! It is sad but believe it or not, the 2010 Jeep Compass does not stand anywhere near other SUVs in its class. The bottom line here is not to expect too much as you are not going to get it anywhere in this SUV. The design is awkward to say the least and it borrows most of it from the Dodge Caliber hatchback. Though we cannot call the 2010 Jeep Compass a car as it does not ride like one the undeniable fact is it keeps crashing like a truck and does not handle properly too. The power-trains are lethargic and noisy and it would definitely prevent you from discovering its high-rpm potential. Inside is none the better and even with the redesign and improvements made in quality last year, the overall design and usage of plastics fail to live up to expectations. The 2010 Jeep Compass’ ground clearance and height are in vogue with other crossovers but it fails in hauling and has the least cargo space in any SUVs of its class. Finally, the 2010 Jeep Compass does not provide value for money and appears to be the least choice of a crossover SUV.
