Kia motors wants to be a people’s beloved brand. Its targeting the Volkswagen image whose name in German means ‘people’s car’. Sources say that its not all about re-branding but much more than that. Kia motors is planning new models of cars, suvs and crossovers that mirror VW models thus giving its audience a larger selection of vehicles they’d like. While the growth expectations are modest, the belief remains that achieving the image of being ‘people’s car’ is a means to an end. Cayenne 43,924 units were sold and it became the Porsche‘s best selling SUV. Panamera followed it with sale of 18,750 units. The demand for the Cayenne sport-utility vehicle helped Porsche to increase its nine month profit by25% and created an unbelievable ratio of 2:1 Porsche 49.9% of SE’s car making units is owned by Volkswagen AG.
