2010 Midsize SUV : Ford ExplorerEven in today’s highly competitive and saturated SUV markets, the Ford Explorer remains one of the best-selling SUV’s. The reasons for the Ford Explorer’s popularity are many; it’s a very capable tow vehicle and a true off-roader, with generous interior space for passengers and luggage, a good range of comfort features and all the necessary safety features required by modern consumers. Explorer is unchanged for 2010, but buyers should note that Ford is expected to build the 2011 Explorer on a car-based platform rather than a truck-based one. These include V8 power, seating for five occupants is standard, but an optional flat-folding third-row seat ups seating capacity to seven. The 60/40-split folding second row can be reclined. The direction-finding system features concurrent traffic in preferred areas and weather conditions updates, and it can find local gas prices, movie times and sports scores. If you’re an admirer of the extra traditional truck-like Explorer, 2010 may be your last chance to get it. And if you wait until the 2011 model comes out in fall 2010, you could get a great deal on the 2010 Ford Explorer. It’s a conventional truck-type plan provides trailering needs without giving up much enhancement to lighter-duty midsize-crossover SUVs. A 5 star safety rating from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has been awarded for both driver and front passenger. The Explorer competes with the Jeep Grand Cherokee, Kia Borrego and Nissan Pathfinder SUVs.
