2010 Compact SUV : TOYOTA RAV4
The marketplace today is awash with compact SUVs. But Toyota was one of the early pioneers with the Toyota RAV4 SUV back in 1996. Toyota says RAV4 SUV’s exterior styling follows a “modern-rugged” theme. The body is free of cladding, and the spare tire is mounted to the rear door. While RAV4’s price, I-4/V-6 power, Four-Wheel drive / All-Wheel drive, and five / seven place seating all don’t change, compact SUV RAV4 (base / Sport / Limited) adds a JBL audio / Bluetooth / steering wheel controls option for the Sport model and makes the Sport Appearance Package available on the I-4 FWD Sport. Base model offers a rearview-mirror-mounted backup monitor. The optional JBL audio system with hands-free Bluetooth capability and audio controls on the steering wheel is available on the Sport trim. Toyota RAV4 SUV comes equipped with a 2.4L, 166hp four cylinder engine, coupled with a four-speed automatic transmission. Safety features include stability and traction control, airbags, and tire pressure monitoring. Remote keyless entry, power windows and locks, and an AM/FM CD player are also standard features. The cabin is light and airy, offering well all round visibility. This base SUV model does offer reliable, efficient and hassle free motoring at a bargain price. Competitors include the Honda CR-V and Ford Escape SUVs.
