2011 Ford Expedition Overview.
The 2011 Ford Expedition is generally wrongly considered as a sports car, but it does offer buyers roomy and comfortable interior, strong performance capabilities and is reasonably priced. There may be fewer shoppers for full-size SUVs, and not many still actually need the outsized passenger and towing abilities these massive vehicles provide. Though, for those who do, there’s the 2011 Ford Expedition. SUVs are the first choice for buyers that need to haul people and cargo, and as for the cargo, the Expedition attains a booming win over its closest opposition, the GMC Yukon and Chevrolet Tahoe.
The Expedition adds up to give a flexible ride quality, relatively confident handling and comfortable seating in all three rows that can comfortably seat up to eight adults. The ride and handling are undoubtedly fundamentally attributed to the independent rear suspension it’s a scarcity in the large-SUV segment. When equipped with four-wheel drive, the Expedition will get there whether the road is dry, wet, snowy, or even when there's hardly any road at all. A few in the class have heavy third row seats that has to be manually removed to make best use of the cargo space, the Expedition has a second and third row that fold flat into the base at the touch of a button.
Changes for 2011 are minimal. Ford launched the base XL trim and withdrew the Eddie Bauer edition. The Expedition is offered with a longer wheelbase EL model, which is as good as Chevrolet Suburban.
Whereas the Expedition is more or less the same as the Tahoe and Yukon when interior accommodations is considered, and trails them in performance, the Tahoe and Yukon do get better gas mileage, and there are hybrid versions of the Tahoe and Yukon are also available. Overall though, the Expedition is comfortable to drive and a good highway cruiser; it’s just that the Yukon and Tahoe are better-driving SUVs.
If you’re considering a full-sized SUV, then there isn’t any need to look beyond the Ford Expedition to satisfy your essential (and more than necessary) needs. The combination of convenience, a smooth, stable ride and a pleasant interior, the Ford Expedition is a fine choice for families that tow or take driving vacations. |
