2011 Dodge Journey Overview.

When compared to other SUVs of its class, Dodge was the late-entrant in the mid-size crossover SUV segment and finally made its way into the market with the launch of Dodge Journey. However, the company which has launched the SUV or rather a mini-van has come up with an assortment of surprises for the users. Dodge has a proven record of making automobiles which can change its form from a passenger ferry to cargo carrier easily. In addition one also has the characteristic muscle exterior and there are dual factors that make this SUV – Dodge Journey creates a niche for itself in a room with other SUVs.

The 2011 Dodge Journey comes with a seven-passenger seating and has a mystic appeal combined with versatility which definitely draws attention. The SUV is more classy than a minivan and elegant in more ways than one. With these attributes the 2011 Dodge Journey is a winner all the way! However, since Dodge’s entry was late in the SUV segment, it fails to impress in driving dynamics and interior finesse when compared to other competitors who have already set the market on fire with these benchmarks.

Driving Impressions:

Most have found the 2011 Dodge Journey’s lithe seating, the even ride and the host of storage facilities that make it a family-vehicle. If you are overwhelmed by the above features, then this SUV would be the best choice for you and your family yet the SUV does go downhill in few places. The Dodge Journey despite having ingenious features lacks the punch in the interior as well as in the overall design when compared to other SUVs of its class.

The “Journey” does suffer from body roll on roads and does give an unlikely steering experience. Handling is nothing much to remark about either and the SUV provides flawed adventure combined with the drudgery of having to maneuver this hefty vehicle. Even the top-class R/T trim does not provide a commendable driving experience and the four-cylinder engine’s feat falls flat – one would be better off with the V6 engine.

2011 Dodge Journey Pros:

  • Equipped with All-Wheel Drive.
  • Snazzy, Stylish Design.
  • Handles Quite Well.

2011 Dodge Journey Cons:

  • - Limitation on storage is a minus.
  • - Interior Styling and Materials are not up to standards.
  • - Lackluster performance on all models.
